SAN MATEO ACADEMIC ROTARY TEAM (SMART)
GOAL SETTING
SMART Goals should be: SMART: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Timely
An important component of the SMART program is the setting and achievement of yearly goals. The purpose of this activity is to encourage achievements during high school that will make it more likely that you will attend college and earn a four-year degree. As an incentive, the Rotary Club of San Mateo will add $100 to your SMART account each year that you achieve your goals.
Goals should be realistically challenging and should be stated in a way that makes it possible to
measure their achievement. (e.g., “I will earn a 3.5 GPA.” rather than “I will be a better student.”)
